a weekly warm-up for marketing that attracts your best buyers
(featuring real stories, copy tips, and cat pics)
Hey Reader,
I bought a water bottle last week and thought of you.
Why?
Because it came with this little note, tied with a simple bow and signed in pen by the founders:
Such a small gesture. But it instantly made me feel appreciated, part of a community. Like I was supporting a business that cares about its people.
It made me want to remind you:
Your online presence can have that same warmth and impact.
It’s easy to overlook the human touches that make a huge difference in how people feel when they step into your world.
Especially if you’re in the fitness space, where it’s a game-changer to know that others care if you show up for your goals.
Want to build memorable moments like this into your marketing?
Start with an impactful welcome email. 📧
When people first subscribe to your email list, sending a good welcome email is a lot like delivering a hand-signed note, wrapped in a bow.
In that first email, think about:
- Warmth and personality: Help them feel like they made a great decision to join your email list, and share a taste of what you’re about.
- A quick win: Offer value right away. (Free resource, discount, etc.) Show that your world is full of high-value stuff they don’t want to miss.
- A friendly nudge: Guide them to a supportive next step like engaging with a free resource, exploring your content, or shopping your products.
These little touches make your people feel special.
Which helps you come to mind when they need solutions like yours.

I’ve written several powerful welcome sequences for clients through my Copy VIP Day service. The most recent of those clients said:
“I don't know how you do this - but wow this is fantastic! I knew it was going to be great - but again I'm blown away.” - Leslie G.

Simple actions to fire up your marketing
Quick win: If you have testimonials but no headshots paired with them, reach out to request them this week! Putting a face to the quote really helps visitors trust you and the people who rave about your work.

Analyzing copy from around the web
Dreamies cat treats ran a video ad about “cat borrowers” who borrow their neighbors’ cats. The tagline, “all it takes is a shake,” appears with an actor shaking the treat bag, and the neighbor’s cat running to get one.
I thought this was brilliant because it plucked a real scenario from my life. I “borrow” my neighbor’s cat, Jeffrey (he visits all the neighbors), and often shake a Dreamies treat bag to invite him over. :)
What real-life situations can you pull from your ideal client’s life to create vivid marketing they relate to on a deep level?

Words to stretch your mind & inspire your week
My favorite palindrome (it spells the same thing forward and backward):
La ruta nos aportó otro paso natural.
Translation: the path gave us the next natural step.
