Hey Reader,

My husband Sam and I started copywriting in 2019. We were teaching English in a tiny fishing village on the western coast of Spain.

In Muros, it rains (a lot) all winter. But summer is dreamy, so everyone heads to the beach. Meaning our usual summer gig, teaching private English classes, had exactly zero interest.

So, we went online and realized we could get paid to write.

A hobbyist blogger at the time, I was thrilled. I had no idea what to expect or what normal rates were, so I spent that summer writing a 30k+ word book for $500. (I KNOW 😱 but that plus a few blogs gave me enough to live it up in Muros for a few months.)

In the fall, we moved to Jerez de la Frontera in southern Spain to teach English at primary schools. Until...

Covid shut those schools down. Suddenly, we were both full-time, self-employed freelance copywriters, locked down in a tiny studio apartment in Andalucía.

We didn't know what we were doing, but we learned as we went. We did our own thing, served our own clients, found our own specialties.

But then we started thinking more long-term.

We realized it made more sense to join forces. Put our energy and skills into one venture, serving one set of clients at a really high level.

That's why we're relaunching together as a full-service, boutique email marketing agency.

It's been amusing (and wonderfully chaotic at times) to see our different approaches come together under one online business roof.

The rebranding process is one example.

As we were picking images, fonts, and colors for the moodboard she prompted us to create, we had some clashing ideas.

Sam gravitated toward warm, bold vibes. 💥

While I was into a cool, minimalist aesthetic. 💙

But we both wanted to lean into our loves of nature and movement. We wanted our brand to have tons of energy, power, and *life*

In the end, we found a happy compromise.

Chunky, bold vibes meet icy blues and fine lines. 🪼

Check out my recent IG post for a peek at our branding inspo Pinterest board.

We can’t wait to show you the brand.

(Big reveal Oct Fourth.)

Any questions about our journey or the rebrand process?

What's going on in your business lately?

Reply and share updates! Times are weird. Let's cheer each other on.

Your 2-minute stretch break for better email marketing. Hey Reader, Last Saturday, a chocolate croissant almost brought me to tears. Fresh out of the oven. Soft on the inside, crispy bite on the outside. Just enough warm chocolate to balance out the layers of pastry. I'm not normally a big food person, but this thing was so good I actually couldn't hold a conversation. It made me think about how many things we consume that are just... fine. The dry muffin you grab just to eat something. The...
